Marcus consults through his company, The Institute for Working Futures Pty. Ltd. (Working Futures™).
Since June 1991 Marcus has led projects with numerous clients including ASX top 20 and Forbes 500 companies. Clients have included iconic brands such as CBA, Qantas, BHP Billiton, St George, Westpac, Telstra, Woolworths, Coles, Santos, Simplot, Vodafone, Seven Network, SingTel Optus, and ANZ. Non-private sector clients have included Australia and New Zealand largest professional bodies; government bodies; and in support of training reforms in New Zealand, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
The main areas of consultancy include:
Human Capability Development (HCD): Capability is the general term for the strategic skills and knowledge, and mindsets that underpin individual and group capacity and thence an organisation’s agility and performance.
Future workforce development planning and readiness: Identifying and isolating skill needs and misalignments between labour market supply and demand for skills at an industry or regional level.

Marcus is a systems-level theorist. His background is in building systems-level solutions that transform futures.
Research is primarily applied and collaborative, involving industry or international partners. He has had strong collaborative relationships with a number of universities in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Singapore, and Germany.
